Race for the Cure Or An Ounce
of Prevention | Cosmetic Safety
Think about what you put on your body every
day before you leave your home. Most of us use a
variety of soaps, shampoos, conditioners, washes,
crèmes and moisturizers.
If you are a man you may use shaving creams
and even hair gels. If you are a woman you can be using a myriad
of applied cosmetics including lipstick and makeup.

The
Problem - Personal care products are chock full
of chemicals that act like estrogen.
Major loopholes in U.S. federal law allow
the $50 billion cosmetics industry to put unlimited
amounts of chemicals into personal care products
with no required testing, no monitoring of health
effects and inadequate labeling requirements. In
fact, cosmetics are among the least-regulated products
on the market.

Every October we see a parade of pink.
There are pink balloons in the neighborhood grocery
stores and pink ribbons on the landscape of America.
We even see big burly NFL football players wearing
pink shoes. It has become a fabric of marketing
a socially acceptable cause. Unfortunately some
of the same companies that promote the “pink”
cause of searching for the breast cancer cure
have controversial ingredients in their products
that may indeed contributing to the disease itself.

Aromaland Sources Essential Oils from Around
the Planet.
We strive to find small farmers who practice sustainability
and produce the highest quality aromatic plants.
Sustainability - Aromaland buys from small farmers
We work with small farmers all around the world
who practice sustainable agriculture. We have been
sourcing these small farmers for over 20 years.
Many if not all the practices detailed below are
demonstrated by our farmers. Our farmers are distillers
and the plant material is processed into an essential
oil on the same land where it is grown. The whole
cycle is complete and sustains itself within its
own carefully managed ecosystem.
